So, I am just about 10 1/2 weeks... That means a tad more than 25% through this pregnancy! Magically this week the nausea has subsided quite a bit (YEAH!) but unfortunately I am still exhausted and I am recovering from a cold/sinus infection. I spent most of the weekend in Snowshoe feeling kind of ill and returned on Sunday with a fever. The doc prescribed Tylenol for the fever and not much else, but I am starting to feel much better. Brad and I have both been sick, but are recovering - so now I am working to desanitize my office and home! Brad has taken good care of me, even when he was a little under the weather himself and I appreciate that very much. The weekend in the mountains was still fun and at least one of us was able to enjoy the ski slopes! I did, however enjoy a pre-natal massage while we were there. I think I need one of those every week! ;-)
I can see and feel my belly starting to stick out. It is definitely time to invest in some new pants! Mom got me some cute maternity dresses and I have been wearing those - they are so comfy and cute, even though I am not that big yet. Thanks again Mom! Guess I may shop around this weekend. Next doc appt is April 1st. I am going to ask her if we can do the next ultrasound a few weeks early and plan for the second week of May. My sister will be in town and I would love for her to be there when we find out the sex of the baby. Maybe they will be willing to do it at 18 1/2 weeks, rather than 20 weeks? Let's hope! Check out the babystrology thing - it is actually looking like a babe now! :-) Mills is relieved that it has finally lost it's "tail."
Babycenter.com update:
Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy. If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

What? A kumquat? Come on, people, just when things are getting better, you have to go and call the precious babe a kumquat? PLEASE!
